Since we have no cable tv, we were pretty much glued to CNN online and NPR on the radio while Phil finished painting the walls in our room and I made dinner, checked the stats, and flitted from project to project. We cheered when Obama won each state, and both shed
a few tears of admiration and relief while we sat together and listened to his acceptance speech. All that concern, all that effort to speak up, all the money that was raised, all the volunteer hours - they've all paid off and now the really hard work begins. But for the next couple of months we can rest, be thankful, and just enjoy the thrill of it all! Thank you to everyone who voted for Barack Obama. You won't regret it. He's got a big mess waiting for him at the White House, but I think he's gonna be our BEST PRESIDENT in the history of our country!!!

Katie we are as thrilled as you are. It is time for change and we are finally going to get it.I also shed tears last night. It is a great hope for me that this was one more barrier that has been broken and that one day a woman will be president also . It is definatly a day I will never forget. Yeah Obama
I could also just listen to him speak all day.
katie, i was another who was shedding tears of joy and dancing like a fool around the living room as i saw the returns come in from every state. i keep pinching myself -- it's been such a long road & we're finally here!! i'm thrilled not only for the Obama victory, but for the fact that it was decisive one (i've had it with hanging chads & all that). the american people have spoken, and they have spoken clearly.
i hope that now the election process is done for now, that we can focus on coming together as a country and making this a better place for americans & work hard at improving our relations with other countries. i know there are some incredibly sore republicans out there, but i hope that once their pain wears off, they'll come to see that obama is exactly the leader our nation needs right now. i heard yesterday from a friend who lives abroad & expressed how deeply joyous and relieved he was at the obama victory. i think the world sighed collectively tuesday night.
i still can't help but squeal!! what an amazing time in our history. i'm actually proud to be an american again.
go OBAMA!!!!
