Breakthrough

Yesterday was another rough day. The clinic would not accept the waiver we had obtained for Alice and so she was given six shots. I'm glad we have all day today with no appointments so we can have a day without any driving around. Last night we went to dinner at a Thai restaurant and we had a bit of a breakthrough with her. Alice finally reached for something! She started spooning her chicken and rice dish into her water cup and mixing it around making a huge mess. Thankfully she was eating it too. It's very comfortable in there - both temperature-wise and with soft music playing. She also figured out how to open the snack container and started feeding Cheerios to Phil. I think she's really starting to bond with him. We were making such progress but today is a bit of a step backward, which is again to be expected. Alice didn't want to get out of her crib (withdrawing from us) so it took awhile to coax her and let Phil pick her up. He's downstairs getting breakfast right now. We tried to Skype with our family at home, but that was just too much for her. I'm attaching some pics of our mealtime yesterday. Love to you all.
